I am created this portrait of renowned 19th Century Artist and illustrator Gustave Doré as part of an exhibition for the creative conference OFFSET, in conjunction with Illustrators Ireland.
I wanted this portrait to mimic a period photograph; a snap shot before he pulled the ubiquitous serious face found in photos of this era, as it was noted that he had a wicked sense of humour...even at the age of five being known to play pranks and jokes far too mature for his age.
